Dr Hayes Woodman

Nearly ten years in. Still the most rewarding thing I do.

Chiropractor & Practice Owner

I graduated from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in 2017 and have spent the decade since doing the same thing: helping people understand what's happening in their body, building a clear plan to fix it, and getting them back to the life they actually want to live.

I work with a wide range of presentations: back, neck and hip pain, sciatica and nerve complaints, shoulder injuries, vertigo, and migraines and headaches. But what I'm most interested in is helping you understand why the problem exists, what keeps it coming back, and what needs to change so it doesn't.

How I work

I use manual chiropractic adjusting techniques, drop-assist, and soft tissue release, hands-on, specific, and targeted to your diagnosis. Exercise programming is built into my approach, not bolted on. I design home-friendly programs around fundamental movement patterns, with progressive overload and clear weekly progressions.

What I genuinely can't stand is cookie-cutter care. You'll never leave my clinic with a back-of-napkin exercise sheet and a vague recommendation to take it easy. You'll leave with a plan, one built around your actual life, your specific goals, and what your body needs right now.

My approach to lifestyle advice

I give lifestyle recommendations that bend to your life, not the other way around. Sleep, nutrition, movement habits, load management, these all matter. But they only matter if they're realistic. My job is to help you find what actually works for your schedule and build it in gradually so it sticks.

A word on continuity

Orewa Chiropractic has been a trusted part of this community for years. Taking over from Dr Thierry Mazer, who is retiring after a distinguished career, is something I don't take lightly. Thierry chose me as his successor because he was confident the patients he'd cared for would be in good hands. I intend to earn that trust every day.

Outside the clinic

When I'm not in the clinic, you'll find me training, watching the footy or anything involving an oval ball, and making the most of everything our beautiful region has to offer outdoors.
